Visitation for Margaret will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St, N., Guelph, on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 9-11 a.m., with a funeral mass following at Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph, at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Marymount Cemetery.

Skowron, Margaret

Margaret (Rita) Skowron (nee McQuarrie), beloved wife of Jerzy for 70 years, passed peacefully into the hands of her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph. Treasured mum of Helen (Brian) Nicholson of Bolton, Linda Hughes, Rita Skowron, both of Guelph, and Suzan (Bobby) Cameron of Cambridge. Cherished nana to Christopher Hughes (Lisa), Arlene Hughes (Frank Joswig), Stacy Niemi, and Stefan and Heather Cameron, and cherished great-nana to Cameron and Shaelyn Hughes, and Caelin and Dominik Joswig.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1925, Margaret is pre-deceased by her parents Michael & Helen McQuarrie, and by her siblings Elizabeth Gavin, Michael McQuarrie, and Rosemary Cassidy. She is survived by many family members overseas.

Margaret and Jerry met in Wolverhampton in 1947, and after raising their family in Glasgow, they moved to Canada in 1982.

Many thanks to Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Shafir, the Bayshore nurses that came to the home, and the nurses at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
