Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 1-3 & 7-9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

SEMLAK, Anton (Tony)- Passed away on October 1, 2017, after a short battle with cancer at the age of 82 with family at his side. Beloved husband of Maria of 57 years, Cherished father of Zdenka (Tony) and the late Tom Semlak (1984). Devoted grandfather of Karmen (Jesse) and Alesh. Proud Papa to Joshua and Sammy.

Predeceased by siblings Veronica(2007), Ivan(1998), Alojz(1961), Anton(1934) and Maria(1933).

Tony was born in Slovenia on February 1, 1935. With his family, he immigrated to Germany, before moving to Canada in 1968 and settling in Guelph, Ontario. Tony was a cabinetmaker and took pride in his workmanship. He was a long-time devoted member of Slovenski Park(Puslinch), as well as a member of the Slovenian church choir for many years.

The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 1-3, and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph, Ontario followed by interment at Marymount Cemetery.
